Watson & Company is a boutique, full-service accounting firm with roots in Vancouver, BC. Established in 1982 by founding partner Barry Watson, today his sons Tynan and Kerry are proud to join him and carry on the family business.
With over 40 years of experience, we provide high quality accounting, assurance, taxation and advisory services to businesses and individuals. As a family business ourselves, we are uniquely positioned to understand the many needs of our clients, and the challenges that come along with running operations.
Our professional staff have designations from CPA Canada and varied educational backgrounds, and while we primarily operate online these days, we have an office in Vancouver’s South Granville neighborhood and always appreciate the opportunity to meet clients in person.

Barry Watson
Partner Emeritus
Barry Watson CPA, CA has a career in accounting that spans over 40 years. He started his first public practice business in 1982 as a sole practitioner, a practice which evolved over time, ultimately arriving at where it is today as Watson & Company. Today, Barry is joined by his two sons as partners who are proud carry on with the family business. While Barry has taken a step back from his responsibilities at the firm in recent years, he is still involved in the strategic management and consults regularly on complex tax transactions and quality control on assurance engagements.
Barry is also proud to be a part of the ownership group of the Richmond Sockeyes, a local Junior B hockey club and has deep ties to the hockey community. When not at the office, he can be found working on his golf swing, watching the Blue Jays, spending time on the beach in Mexico and babysitting his many grandchildren.
Barry holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree received from the University of British Columbia in 1976 and obtained his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1980.
Tynan Watson
Partner
Tynan Watson CPA, CA has been working with his father in public practice since 2009. Tynan has a long-standing relationship with a number of Watson & Company’s clients and has helped ensure a smooth transition between generations. He specializes in providing accounting and tax services to small businesses and incorporated professionals. Like his brother, Tynan has been actively involved with CPA Canada Marking Centre, marking the CFE and helping to usher in the next generation of Chartered Professional Accountants.
Outside of the office, Tynan can be found spending time with two young children, his wife and their cat. Tynan is an avid gamer, an accomplished musician and is also co-manages a men’s league hockey team along with his brother.
Tynan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree received from the University of Northern British Columbia in 2007 and obtained his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 2012.
Kerry Watson
Partner
Kerry Watson CPA, CA joined his father and brother in 2018 after spending some time working in Vancouver’s tech industry. He was allured by the challenge of running his own business and the opportunity to carry on the family legacy. Kerry manages most of the firm’s assurance engagements and has a strong working knowledge in tax, having successfully completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program in 2021. Like his brother, Kerry has been actively involved with CPA Canada Marking Centre, marking the CFE and helping to usher in the next generation of Chartered Professional Accountants.
Outside of the office, Kerry can be found in the mountains either skiing, fishing or hiking with his dog. He is also a certified yoga instructor, having completed his 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2023. Kerry co-manages a men’s league hockey team along with his brother and is an avid Canucks fan.
Kerry holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree received from the University of Victoria in 2010, obtained his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 2014.
